PSEA's legislative priority to pay student teachers advances in state Legislature

On June 22, the state House of Representatives approved House Bill 1331 which will pay student teachers for the work that they do and increase pay for teachers who mentor them. This creates a:

  • $10,000 stipend for all student teachers,
  • $15,000 stipend for student teachers in schools with higher teacher vacancies,
  • And $2,500 stipend for teachers who mentor student teachers.

HB 1331 is now awaiting consideration in the state Senate. For more information on PSEA's legislative priorities, click the button below.

We are looking for aspiring educators who are willing to use their personal social media accounts to create and share pro-public education content through PSEA's new Social Media Education Advocate (SMEA) influencer program. This is a paid opportunity.
