We don’t have time for nonsenseIn the past two-and-a-half weeks, PSEA members have sent legislators 15,000 emails, telling them to vote “no” on a bill that would require schools to post all academic standards, syllabi, textbooks, and course descriptions on their websites for anyone to see. House Bill 1332 moved out of the Senate Education Committee on Monday, and it could be voted on in the full Senate soon. Why the rush? Because anti-public education legislators want to interfere with how our public schools work and push their political agendas. PSEA members don’t have time to waste on this kind of nonsense. Contact your state senator TODAY and tell him or her to oppose House Bill 1332. |
PSEA members will have a lot of clout in the 2022 governor’s raceWe know that politics isn’t everyone’s favorite subject right now. But PSEA-PACE has started thinking about Pennsylvania’s gubernatorial election in 2022. Why? Because we know what it’s like to have a pro-public education governor. And we know what it’s like to NOT have one. We’ll take the pro-public education governor every time. PSEA believes in quality public education for all students, and in getting the pensions, salaries, benefits, and working conditions, and respect that every PSEA member deserves. That’s what PSEA members care about, and that’s what PSEA thinks about when we recommend any candidate, particularly a candidate for governor. In 2022, the person we elect as Pennsylvania’s next governor will determine which side of these issues state government will be on. PSEA members have a lot of clout when it comes to choosing our next governor. So, your opinion, your voice, and your vote really matter. We just want to remind you of that before we get into 2022 and all the political noise starts. |
