Thank a counselor during National School Counseling WeekNational School Counseling Week is Feb. 6-10. It’s a great time to thank the school counselors in your school community for the critical work they do with students, families, and colleagues. Our counselors play an integral role in the success of our public schools. And in a time of increased concerns about student mental health, their presence is more valuable and appreciated than ever. “School counselors make a difference,” said Adam Oldham, a high school counselor in the Big Springs School District. “We work closely with teachers, administrators, and other professionals — and together we are helping students find their way on the road to a bright future.” I want to take this opportunity to say thank you to all our wonderful school counselors, on behalf of everyone at PSEA. The difference you make is immeasurable. |
Local presidents! Look out for your NEA-RA local delegate formOn Feb. 1, The National Education Association emailed your NEA Representative Assembly delegate form. This document provides the number of delegates allowed to represent your local and is the only form available for you to report your delegates to the upcoming RA. Completed forms should be sent to Denise Rutledge, PSEA convention coordinator, at drutledge@psea.org no later than April 10. Please make sure to check your email as well as your spam/junk folder. If you believe you have not received the emailed form from NEA, you may request a duplicate by contacting Denise Rutledge. The 2023 NEA Representative Assembly will be held July 2-6 in Orlando, Florida, and is the world’s largest democratic deliberative assembly. The RA consists of nearly 8,000 delegates representing state and local affiliates, student members, support professional members, and retired members. |
