Join our Paid Summer Advocacy Program

Students in our public schools are struggling, and we need to increase investment in public education and student supports NOW to avoid a crisis. Join our elite advocacy team this summer to talk to your neighbors about the work done at the federal level to invest in public education.

Advocate Partners

PSEA is seeking 61 Advocate Partners, members who are willing to:

  • Learn how to use their voices and their experiences to effectively advocate for public education
  • Knock on selected doors in their community to have meaningful conversations
  • Complete 200 contact attempts or 40 conversations per week for a period of 8 weeks beginning June 1st and concluding no later than August 31st
  • Log the results of their conversations using the miniVAN application on their cell phone or tablet
  • Receive comprehensive virtual trainings plus a one-day, in-person, deep-dive on messaging and a canvassing experience on Saturday June 1st
  • Earn an independent contractor stipend of $3,200, payable in equal biweekly installments

Advocate Leaders

PSEA is also seeking 7 Advocate Leaders, members who are willing to do the above while overseeing a team of Advocates, including planning canvasses, distributing contact lists, motivating team members, and triaging technical support and other issues. Training will be provided. Leaders will earn an independent contractor stipend of $4,200, payable in equal biweekly installments.
