HARRISBURG (Sept. 5, 2017) – The Pennsylvania State Education Association’s three state officers began new terms on Sept. 2.
Dolores McCracken, a paraprofessional in the Council Rock School District, took office as PSEA president; Rich Askey, a music teacher in the Harrisburg School District, became PSEA vice president; and Jeff Ney, an elementary teacher in the Wilkes-Barre Area School District, became PSEA treasurer.
“It is an honor and a privilege to serve as PSEA’s president,” McCracken said. “I’m eager to continue to serve our members, promote the great things that are happening in Pennsylvania’s public schools, and make sure that every public school student gets the power of a great education.”
McCracken previously served as PSEA’s vice president. She became president after former president Jerry Oleksiak left PSEA to become state secretary of labor and industry. McCracken also served as PSEA treasurer and as a member of the PSEA Board of Directors.
In July, the PSEA Board of Directors elected Askey as vice president and Ney as treasurer. Askey was PSEA treasurer for two years and had been a member of the PSEA and NEA Boards of Directors. Ney was also a member of the PSEA Board.

An affiliate of the National Education Association, PSEA represents approximately 181,000 future, active and retired teachers and school employees, and health care workers in Pennsylvania.
