I hope that you are all having a great start to the new school year! I am very excited to get to know you and work together to continue improving public education for us as aspiring educators.

Josh Shapiro listens to and respects future educators and believes we, not politicians, deserve to have a strong voice when it comes to making decisions about public education.

Congratulations, Sabreena!

Sabreena Shaller, previous Student PSEA president, was elected as NEA's newest Aspiring Educators Chair at the 2022 NEA AE Conference in Chicago. 

Sabreena will work full time with NEA, in both Washington, D.C. and across the nation, to provide visibility on campuses and organize future educators. She will lead 45,000 aspiring educators who represent more than 1,000 NEA Aspiring Educator chapters on college and university campuses across the country.

The Achieving Professional Excellence (APEX) program is designed to encourage Student PSEA chapters to participate and document their progress through a variety of projects that fall under five main categories:

  • Community service
  • Leadership and membership development
  • Political action and advocacy 
  • Professional development
  • General organization and quality 

APEX offers you leadership opportunities, recognition and awards, and the chance to show your commitment to Student PSEA.
