Student PSEA attends May 2025 House of Delegates
From May 16-17, Student PSEA delegates joined hundreds of PSEA members in Pittsburgh to conduct the important business of our Association at the biannual House of Delegates. In addition to hearing key updates about PSEA’s challenges and priorities, delegates:
- Debated 17 and passed 10 New Business Items (NBIs),
- Elected the 2025-27 PSEA officer team,
- Celebrated the 2025 National Teacher of the Year Ashlie Crosson and 2025 Pennsylvania Teacher of the Year Leon Smith, and
- Supported pro-public education candidates through PSEA-PACE.

Sign up to be a PSEA Education Defender
Are you sick and tired of the relentless attacks against public education and public educators? We are seeking current Student PSEA members to become PSEA Education Defenders to help fight back and advocate for your future students and professions.
As a PSEA Education Defender, you will:
- Receive personal outreach from PSEA staff in your region,
- Be invited to exclusive trainings and briefings with senior staff from NEA and PSEA,
- Have the option to receive text and email alerts, and
- Have unique opportunities to advocate directly with federal and state policymakers.
Defending public education takes ALL of us. Whether you have five minutes or a few hours, your voice and your actions matter.

Will you be a student in the 2025-26 school year?
Please renew your Student PSEA membership to remain covered under PSEA’s liability insurance. Renew online at www.psea.org/about-psea/how-to-join/student-registration/.
Are you a graduate with a teaching job in Pennsylvania lined up?
We invite you to enroll early into PSEA as a full-time EA member at www.psea.org/enroll. When selecting a membership type in the drop down menu, please select “FY 2025-26 EA Early Enrollment Annual.”
