Happy Fall Y'all

The fifth annual Rock Solid Educators Conference was held at Slippery Rock University on Saturday, Nov. 16. This year, we had more than 80 student members from six universities across the state.  The conference offered spectacular professional development sessions. The keynote speaker was NEA Aspiring Educators chairperson, Rachel Immerman, and concluded with a new teacher panel.

Breakout session topics included: Social Emotional Learning, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Teaching in Diverse Settings, Trauma and ACES, Rocking Your First-Year Teaching, and What to Do in Your Job Interviews.  There were breakout sessions that included three speakers who were finalists for Pennsylvania Teacher of the Year.

Throughout the event members had opportunities to use our photo booth, donate to PSEA-PACE through our raffle baskets, and make donations to contribute to our Outreach to Teach project for the 2020 Spring Student PSEA state conference in Erie.  Student PSEA members who attended the conference received a certificate of participation.
