PSEA Board fills vacancies on state officer team in wake of Oleksiak's Cabinet appointment

Following the news that President Jerry Oleksiak will leave PSEA on September 2 to join Gov. Tom Wolf's Cabinet as secretary of Labor and Industry, the PSEA Board of Directors has taken action to ensure a smooth transition in the three-member state officer team.

Vice President Dolores McCracken will become president on September 2.

During the board's July 22 meeting, board members elected current treasurer Rich Askey as vice president and Northeastern Region President Jeff Ney as treasurer.

Askey's and Ney's terms will also begin on September 2.

"We are so proud of Jerry. He is an outstanding leader and advocate for working people, and he will be an excellent secretary of Labor and Industry," McCracken said. "I couldn't be more pleased with the new officer team. We'll be ready to hit the ground running on September 2."

A long-time PSEA leader, McCracken was a member of the board of directors, served as PSEA treasurer for four years, and as vice president for two years. She is a paraprofessional in the Council Rock School District in Bucks County.

"It will be an honor and a privilege to serve as PSEA's president," McCracken said. "I love PSEA, I'm absolutely committed to our members, and I'm going to fight for them and for what we believe in every day."
