Our push to pay PSEA members more gains traction

Over the past few weeks, you’ve no doubt heard us talking to members and to the public about our effort to raise educator pay. Increasing starting salaries for educators, school counselors, and nurses to $60,000 and paying support professionals at least $20 per hour is a top priority for PSEA as we work to address the critical educator shortage in our state.

Though we’ve only just begun our push on this, it’s already gaining traction. I wrote an op-ed that, as of today, has been published in seven newspapers spanning the commonwealth:

Fixing the educator pipeline will not happen overnight. But it starts with awareness of solutions like this one. We will continue to lead the fight to make the education profession more attractive for aspiring educators and for PSEA members alike. And, as promised, we will keep you updated on our efforts and any advances we are able to make.

Thank you for everything you do.
