Now accepting nominations for 2023 Celebrating Excellence Awards

We have resumed the nomination and selection process for 2023 Celebrating Excellence Awards. Make your nominations at the link below.

The Adler Friend of Education award recognizes an individual who has made significant statewide contributions to public education.

The Human and Civil Rights awards are intended to applaud the outstanding work occurring every day in Pennsylvania’s public schools and in our communities.

A selection committee meets each January to review the nominations submitted and select winners in four categories: Student Leader, Educational Leader, Community Leader, and Local Association, along with the Adler Friend of Education Award.

PSEA member Ryan Hardesty wins 2023 PA Teacher of the Year

Congratulations to Ryan Hardesty, a seventh and eighth grade social studies teacher at Highland Middle School in the Blackhawk School District in Beaver County for earning the title of 2023 Pennsylvania Teacher of the Year!

We are thrilled to count another PSEA member among this esteemed group.

PSEA member spotlight: Colleen Cram

We just concluded our House of Delegates in Pittsburgh this past weekend. It’s one of two opportunities each year for delegates to gather to do the important work of our organization. It’s also an opportunity for us to showcase some of the amazing things our members are doing in their schools.

One of the members whose story we shared at this House is Colleen Cram, a transition coordinator in the Hatboro-Horsham School District who runs the district’s STRIVE program for students with disabilities. STRIVE allows IEP students to learn various employability skills by doing things like working among faculty and staff in the high school’s cafeteria and library or serving coffee, packaging boxes, and filing paper at local businesses in Horsham. It’s a wonderful program that we also featured in the May issue of Voice.

Do you have a story you think we should tell in an upcoming publication or at a House of Delegates? Share it with us at the link below.
