Pennsylvania’s public schools should be the safest and healthiest places for students to learn and grow. To make sure they are, we need the most qualified teachers, teaching assistants, school nurses, counselors, psychologists, and social workers.
PSEA members know how important it is to encourage students to read. That’s why many of our local associations are collecting books to give to students who need them. PSEA is helping facilitate these book drives by providing materials and assistance to members who are coordinating drives. Our goal is to see book drives in every PSEA region.
Support PSEA's book drives
You can support these book drives by contributing to the PSEA Education Foundation. (Note: Contributors must be Pennsylvania residents).
Planning a book drive?
PSEA works closely with locals to conduct book drives that meet the needs of the families in their communities. Book collections may focus on books for specific age groups, such as Pre-K or school-age children, or focus on a theme, such as health and wellness or preserving the environment.
Partners
Locals may choose to work in connection with other locals (within their cluster or region), and/or community organizations
Grants
Small grants are available through the PSEA Education Foundation to purchase low-cost books to supplement local book drives. Grant money may be used to purchase books from First Book or other nonprofit entities that provide access to new books for children in need.
