Lucy Valero Scholarship Fund

About the Fund
The Lucy A. Valero Scholarship Fund, administered by PSEA, provides scholarships to one or more outstanding college and university students each year who are enrolled in an accredited teacher preparation program in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The fund also provides a scholarship to a high school student member of Future Educators Association. Applicants must be members in good standing of Student-PSEA or Future Educators Association. Awards are presented at the annual convention of the Student Pennsylvania State Education Association each year.

Lucy Valero spent 18 years working with PSEA’s student program, building it into one of the strongest in the nation. Her friends and colleagues created the memorial fund to recognize her dedicated service. The fund’s scholarship program aims to attract capable new teachers to the profession. Since its creation, the memorial fund has provided many scholarships to outstanding students headed for a career in education, and gives PSEA a valuable opportunity to influence the future of public education in Pennsylvania.

How to Apply
