2013 Teacher of year finalists announced

Eleven PSEA members are among the 12 educators named by the Pennsylvania Department of Education as finalists for the state’s 2013 Teacher of the Year.
The 12 finalists are:
- Staci Blair, Millcreek Township School District, Erie County, Millcreek EA
- Denise Bolcavage, Forest City Regional School District, Susquehanna County, Forest City EA
- Ryan Devlin, Brockway Area School District, Jefferson County, Brockway Area EA
- Nancy Gheysens, Rose Tree Media School District, Delaware County, Rose Tree Media EA
- Paula Giran, Norwin School District, Westmoreland County, Norwin EA
- Michael Miller, Wyomissing Area School District, Berks County, Wyomissing Area EA
- Janet Miltenberger, Southern Lehigh School District, Lehigh County, Southern Lehigh EA
- James Prince, North Allegheny School District, Allegheny County
- DeAnn Scherer, Rose Tree Media School District, Delaware County, Rose Tree Media EA
- Janette Showalter, Northern Lebanon School District, Lebanon County, Northern Lebanon EA
- Jacquelyn Wagner, Penns Valley Area School District, Centre County, Penns Valley EA
- Denise Williams, Northern Lebanon School District, Lebanon County, Northern Lebanon EA.
The 12 educators were nominated by students, parents, colleagues, and community members. PSEA congratulates each of this year's finalists. The winner will be announced later this year.
Tricia Miller, a literacy coach in the Penns Valley Area School District and a member of Penns Valley EA, is the 2012 Teacher of the Year.
