About this year's workshop
The 2014 ESP Region House of Delegates and Leadership Workshop is May 2-3 at the Central Best Western in Harrisburg (just off Union Deposit Road).  The House of Delegates begins Friday at 7:30 p.m.  Workshops will begin on Friday morning, continue throughout the day, and conclude by Saturday afternoon.
The workshop theme is “Building Effective Leadership.”  Our keynote speaker on Friday morning is Lawrence “Larry” Hamm.  As chairman of the People’s Organization for Progress, he works toward building unity among community organizations and to further the struggle for quality education and employment opportunities.
Sessions related to this year’s theme include:  Building Local Capacity, Social Networking, School Board Elections, Bargaining Health Care, Building Community Relations, Subcontracting Food Service, The ESP Code of Member Responsibility, Basic Negotiations, Affordable Care Act, and various special education topics.
Saturday morning will consist of a panel discussion by PSEA staff on various “Hot Topics” pertinent to ESP members.  This will be followed by our popular legal update on issues and events taking place across the Commonwealth that affect ESP members.
Workshops are scheduled to begin Friday morning and continue throughout the day until late afternoon. Friday evening, the ESP House of Delegates will start at 7:30 p.m. and will remain in session until completion that evening.  Saturday morning, we will continue with the large group sessions until approximately 11:30 a.m.
If you have any questions about the registration process, please contact Candace Kuba, ext. 7137 at 800-944-7732.
We look forward to seeing you there!
