PSEA’s student program is one of the best in the nation, thanks to the hard work of Lucy Valero.
She was committed to spotting students who would make outstanding teachers and helping them toward that goal.
PSEA honors her spirit and Pennsylvania’s most promising future educators with the annual Lucy A. Valero Scholarships.
Student PSEA members Rebecca Woskoff of Albright College and Megan Lengle of East Stroudsburg University each received $3,000 scholarships. Two other Student PSEA members, Shannon Wasilewski of East Stroudsburg University and Michael Gottfried of Penn State University, each received $2,500.
There were also $500 scholarships awarded to Alyssa Pazman of Plum High School, who will be attending Slippery Rock in the fall, and Cara Kirman of Lower Dauphin High School, who will be attending Penn State or Temple.
