PSEA honors John Clark
PSEA honors longtime colleague John Clark, who passed away September 2, 2010.
John Clark was a Communications/Organizing Program Specialist (COPS) for the Pennsylvania State Education Association for more than 17 years. He served in PSEA offices in Wilkes-Barre, Allentown, and Montgomeryville.
"John Clark was a valued part of the PSEA family. He will be remembered for his many contributions to members and public education," said PSEA Executive Director John Springer. "Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family."
John assisted local and regional PSEA associations with public relations, community outreach, organizing, and labor issues. He was the face of PSEA to local news media in eastern and southeastern Pennsylvania.
John was well known to members for his guidance, leadership, and dedication.
He came to PSEA from the Pennsylvania Department of Education, where he had been special assistant to the secretary for communications, press secretary, and director of communications. He also worked for the Allentown Morning Call newspaper for 13 years.
John was involved in several PSEA projects, including the Staples partnership, Radio Disney and PSEA’s Classroom Closeup TV commercial series. He worked extensively with the Chester Upland Education Association, and many other local associations.
John was an award-winning communications specialist who worked tirelessly for members and the union movement. He will be greatly missed by all his colleagues at PSEA and the thousands of members he served.
