PSEA welcomes three new local associations

On September 24, three groups of education employees voted to form unions with PSEA.

In Bristol Borough, the workers voting to name PSEA as their representative include secretaries, paraprofessionals, computer technology specialists, custodial, maintenance, and transportation and food service workers.

In Belle Vernon, two new PSEA locals won the right to represent workers. One will represent custodial and maintenance workers and the other will represent transportation workers. Cafeteria workers in Belle Vernon voted to organize with PSEA earlier this year.

The three new locals affiliates are: the Bristol Borough Education Support Professionals, with 54 potential new members; the Belle Vernon Custodial and Maintenance Support Professionals, with 28 potential new PSEA members; and the Belle Vernon Transportation Professionals, with 30 potential new members.

“We are proud to welcome these three locals to PSEA’s family of over 1,000 local affiliates,” said PSEA President James P. Testerman. “We will provide our newest members in Bristol Borough and Belle Vernon with the same type of strong representation and advocacy that PSEA’s members have come to expect from their association.”

Transition meetings and election of local leaders for all three locals will occur this fall. PSEA welcomes the new locals to the Association.
