February is Career and Technical Education Month in Pennsylvania


CTE1Career and technical education plays an important role in preparing students for jobs after graduation or furthering their post-secondary education.

This year, opening ceremonies will begin on Tuesday, February 9 at the Capitol Building in Harrisburg and continue with dinner that evening and a recognition breakfast on Wednesday morning. Displays will be available for the public.

The PA Senate passed a February 3 resolution designating February 2010 as Career and Technical Education Month in Pennsylvania. The special designation was passed by the State Senate to increase public understanding and appreciation of the value of career and technical education and recognize this year's theme, "Spark Your Creativity ...With Career and Technical Education."
