Welcome to Eastern Region!

CALLING ALL PSEA MEMBERS...
The Race for Adam Foundation
is sponsoring a 5K Walk as a fundraising event.  Sean Recke, a PSEA member in Salisbury Township EA, has a son Adam who was diagnosed with Type C Niemann-Pick disease.
Niemann-Pick is progressive, degenerative and always – until we find a cure – fatal.  The Foundation is conducting this race to help raise funds to find a cure, so no other parent has to watch their child suffer this fate.   Please consider participating...along with your friends and family...in this important fundraising event.   See sponsor letterregistration form, and pledge form for details.

PSEA teams up with Radio Disney and Cops 'n' Kids for Literacy and Book Collection Event...
PSEA formally kicked off its second major literacy and book collection initiative at Fountain Hill Elementary School in the Bethlehem Area School District.  “The goal of this initiative is to strengthen the joy of learning and reading in young children by using on-air Radio Disney personalities to read to students and to lead the students through a host of active learning experiences and gentle physical exercises,” said John Clark, a PSEA spokesperson and a coordinator of the initiative.

To spread the joy of learning and reading beyond the school house door, Clark said PSEA is working with the Lehigh Valley Cops ‘N’ Kids Literacy Program and Radio Disney to collect age appropriate books for distribution. He said the books would be reviewed and distributed by the Cops ‘N’ Kids program to families and community organizations that do not have access to or sufficient quantities of good books for young children.

“As in the past, we are counting on public support to help with the book collection,” Clark said. “Our goal is to collect 20,000 new or gently used books between November 9 and the end of the current school year.”  Individuals wishing to donate books can do so at any Radio Disney event (check www.radiodisney.com for event listings) and at the following PSEA office locations:  Eastern Region, Mideastern Region, Northeastern Region, Southeastern Region.   Click here for details.
