Speak Out Against Proposed Cuts to K-12 Public Schools and Higher Education
Did you know that funding for public schools could be cut by $1.2 billion this year? And state funding for higher education could be cut by 50%. Higher education cuts mean higher tuition, cuts to academic programs, and less student loan money for you and your classmates. K-12 education cuts mean larger class sizes and fewer opportunities for children to succeed, along with education job cuts. Visit
www.psea.org/studentaction to find out how you can quickly speak up for public schools and higher education. Share the page with your parents and classmates - cuts to higher education will impact all current and future college students, and their families. Speak up and speak out today!

Monday, April 4: Wear your school colors for lifelong learning
The 10,700 members of Student PSEA are encouraged to join educators, civil rights groups, and labor organizations across the nation for a Day of Action on Monday, April 4. Students are encouraged to wear school colors to stand in solidarity for lifelong learning. Learn more at
www.psea.org/studentaction.

Membership Milestones
Did you know that Student PSEA has over 10,700 members? Kudos to the following Student PSEA Chapters for helping us reach this amazing milestone by surpassing their membership figures from last year: CalU, Clarion, LaSalle, Lock Haven, Lycoming, Waynesburg, and Wilkes. Interested in helping your chapter grow? Contact
students@psea.org for ideas and activities.

Million Dollar Decision
Although retirement is a L-O-N-G way off, you will be affected by a new pension law that was recently passed. Anyone hired after July 1 will have only 45 days to decide between a 2.0 or a 2.5 multiplier – that determines the value of your pension when you retire. Stay tuned for more information about this law and how it affects YOU and check out the resources available at
www.psea.org/pension.
